It's been a tough first half week at home for the three of us. Well, maybe not so much for Connor, but for Lorna and I. Connor gets to eat, sleep, and poop whenever he wants to. This typically means that he's eating about four times when Lorna and I want to sleep, sleeping in the middle of the morning and the middle of the afternoon, and occasionally pooping as soon as we change his diaper and already once blasting me getting it all over his own clothes and my hands. It's funny though how you get somewhat desensitized from getting a bit of crap on your hands when you constantly have to wipe another person's ass. I'm sure all other parents can relate. Breastfeeding is always a challenge. We're not sure if Connor is trying to teach us the right way of doing things, but his gassy tummy makes him fussy and can keep us up for hours. Oh, and for those parents that have to wake up every three hours during the night... consider yourselves lucky. Connor likes to get up whenever he pleases, meaning every other hour or so.
Conner went to his first doctor's appointment on Tuesday and everything looks great. He's only 2oz less than his original birth rate which is good considering that the doctor wants him to be back up to his original birth rate by his 2 week checkup. He got his first shot yesterday, and Connor made more of a fuss before he got it than after, so I suppose it went decently well.
